A cheese dome and plate, both in clear glass, from Trendglas Jena. The dome has a glass ball on top to lift it by and covers a matching round plate 8.1 in across. Assembled it stands 5 in tall. Glass on both halves is the useful part. You can see the cheese without lifting the cover, which is how a board actually gets eaten at a party, and the plate takes a few seconds in the microwave to bring a firm cheese back toward room temperature. Both pieces are heat resistant, dishwasher safe and odorless, so a blue cheese one week leaves nothing behind for the next. It works for cheese and cold cuts equally well, at home for a tasting or packed for a picnic. If you would rather serve on wood and cut directly on the board, the same dome is sold on a bamboo board instead.
