This is the bamboo board version of the Trendglas Jena cheese dome. The board is solid bamboo and works as a cutting board, so you can slice on it and serve from the same piece instead of moving cheese to a second dish. The clear glass dome drops over the top and has a glass ball handle to lift it by. Assembled it stands 5 in tall and measures 8.1 in across. The glass is heat resistant, microwaveable, dishwasher safe and odorless, so strong cheese leaves nothing behind. The bamboo is wood, so it wants hand washing rather than a dishwasher cycle. It travels well for a picnic and earns its space at a tasting at home. If you would rather have a base you can microwave, the same dome is sold with a glass plate.
