Centrotvola - Onda Center Piece

It is not wood. That is the first thing to say about the Onda, because it will fool people across a table. The grain and the hand feel read as timber, but the bowl is plastic, which is why it weighs almost nothing and does not mind being wiped down. The form is a shallow wave, 12 in long and 8 in wide, 3 in deep at the low point. Brown on the outside and red through the center, so the color reads differently depending on whether it is full or empty. It works as a fruit bowl, a bread bowl, or as an object left empty on a dining table or console. Piacenza is the Italian maker.
