Cake Plate

A pedestal cake plate in white porcelain, 11.6 in across, with a subtle curve lifting the rim. The foot is a tapered base that raises the plate about 4 in off the table, which is the whole point of a cake stand: height separates the cake from everything else on the surface and makes a plain sponge look considered. It is designed to fit the ASA glass bell covers, so the plate and cover work as a pair rather than as two pieces that nearly match. Under a bell it becomes a keeper for cake, biscuits or cheese. Without one it serves as a raised platter. Made in Germany and dishwasher safe. The cover is a separate purchase.
