Antibacterial drying mat with silver (Mat de Séchage antibactérien)

This is where glasses go after you wash them. The mat is a thick microfibre towel sponge sewn through with silver yarn. Hand wash a glass or a decanter in warm water, set it upside down on the mat, and the mat pulls the water off instead of letting it pool and dry into a ring. The silver is the working part. Silver is naturally antibacterial, so direct contact with the yarn purifies the rim of the glass, and the whole glass if you wipe it down with the mat. The practical consequence is that you do not need detergent, which matters more with wine glasses than with anything else in the kitchen: detergent residue sits in the bowl and flattens the aromas of whatever you pour next. It is extremely absorbent, prevents water stains, and leaves no lint or material residue on the glass. It washes at 140 F and goes straight back to work, so there is nothing to replace and nothing to refill.
