Hollywood Roosevelt

This is a Theory11 deck of playing cards designed with the Hollywood Roosevelt, the hotel that opened on Hollywood Boulevard in 1927 and hosted the first Academy Awards. The artwork takes its cues from the building itself, so the faces and backs carry art deco geometry rather than the standard bicycle look. Gold accents run through the design. It reads as a hotel keepsake more than a card room deck, which is the point: most people who buy it are buying a small piece of the place, or handing one to someone who loves old Hollywood. At $12.95 it works as a gift that does not need wrapping paper to look considered. It also still shuffles and deals like a normal 52 card deck, so it does not have to sit on a shelf.
