A small flat lid in clear glass, made for the TEA TIME cup. The profile is shallow with a flared rim that locates it on the cup, and there is no knob — so it sits low, stacks easily, and there is nothing to snap off. It earns its place while the tea is steeping. Covering the cup holds the heat in for the few minutes the leaf needs, which is the difference between a properly extracted cup and a lukewarm one. Then it becomes a resting place for the strainer when you lift it out. Like every Trendglas lid it sits loose rather than sealing, with no gasket anywhere. Steam escapes instead of building up, there is no rubber to perish, and it washes without any special care. It is made for the TEA TIME cup (0.4 L). It is not one of the 2.75 in pot lids and is not interchangeable with them.
