The Teapot Miko 1.2 is a mouth-blown clear glass teapot holding 1.2 liters, made with German borosilicate 3.3 and produced in Hungary. Borosilicate 3.3 is light in the hand but strong, and it has no pores for odors to settle into, which is why the EU gives it an allergy-free rating. It comes with the Trendglas laser-cut infuser. Laser cutting makes finer openings than a standard strainer, so it traps more of the small particles that would otherwise end up as sediment in the cup. The glass is clear all the way round, so you can watch the steep progress and pull the infuser at the point you want rather than by the clock. The pot measures 6.2" x 9.8" x 6.4" and resists stains and odors. It is dishwasher safe and can be used on gas, electric and in the microwave.

Mouth-blown German borosilicate 3.3 glass, produced in Hungary. Dishwasher safe. Suitable for gas, electric and microwave. Rinse the infuser soon after brewing. This glass does not react with what goes in it. Daily hibiscus, lemon or rosehip will not corrode the surface, cloud it or leave a flavor behind for the next cup. The only substances that etch borosilicate 3.3 are hydrofluoric acid, concentrated phosphoric acid and strong alkali, and only above 212 F. None of them live in a home kitchen.
