The double wall on these is an air pocket, and it does three useful things. It keeps a latte hot further into the drink, it keeps the outer glass comfortable to hold so no handle is needed, and it stops condensation forming when you use them for iced coffee or a chilled cordial. No sweat rings on the table. Each mug is mouth blown, so no two are quite identical. The floating look that double-walled glass produces suits a layered drink in particular: a macchiato shows its layers, and so does anything poured over milk. The glass is borosilicate, which is why they survive daily use. They are scratch resistant and hold up to thermal shock across the range from 32°F to 212°F, so a hot pour into a cold glass is not a problem.

Materials & Care
Mouth-blown borosilicate 3.3 glass. Judge does not state dishwasher guidance for this model; hand washing is the safe default for mouth-blown double-walled glass. Avoid knocking the rims together. Acid is what wears out cheaper glass and metal infusers, and borosilicate 3.3 is resistant to it. Lemon, rosehip and hibiscus will not corrode or cloud the surface, and nothing you brew carries over in taste. It takes hydrofluoric acid, concentrated phosphoric acid or strong alkali above 212 F to etch this glass, which puts it well outside kitchen use.
