This is a decanter built for light wines, which is the case people usually skip. Whites and lighter reds do open up with air, but they do it faster and they need to go back on the table promptly, so the Collio is designed to be poured from as well as decanted in. Oxygenator and serving jug in one piece, with an upright modern line rather than the heavy globe shape. The set is the interesting part. There is a stick for drying the inside of the decanter, which solves the one genuinely annoying thing about owning one. Then a wooden base to stand it on, a cork holder, a saucer to catch drips and a silver funnel. It all arrives in a wooden package. Legnoart is a small family business on the shore of Lake Orta in northern Italy, owned by Enrico Albertini, who oversees the designs himself.

Materials & Care
Glass decanter with wood components and a silver funnel. Rinse the decanter with warm water after use and stand it on the drying stick. Do not put the wooden parts in water or a dishwasher.
