Glass Flat Lid

The flat lid is the plainest of the Trendglas replacements: a disc of clear borosilicate glass with no knob and no ball. Nothing sits above the rim, so pots stack and the lid stores flat. Some people prefer it for exactly that, and some prefer it because there is no handle to break off. Fits all Trendglas Jena teapots, large and small, except the SOLO, GLOBE, PISA 1.2 and SIGN 1.2. It also fits every Trendglas kettle, the milk jug, and the OFFICE mug. Every Trendglas lid is the same 2.75 in size, and it sits loose on the pot rather than sealing to it. That is how it is made: there is no rubber gasket to dry out, crack, or hold a smell, and the gap lets steam escape instead of building pressure. It is a resting cover, not a seal — a full pot should not be tipped or carried by the lid. One thing worth knowing before you buy: with no knob, the lid heats up with the pot and there is no cool point to lift it by. Use a cloth, or choose one of the ball-handle lids instead.
