This is the domed replacement lid for Trendglas Jena glassware. The glass rises in a gentle dome and is topped with a solid glass ball about 0.8 in across, fused to the lid rather than glued or screwed on, so there is no joint to work loose and nothing to unscrew and lose in the sink. Fits all Trendglas Jena teapots, large and small, except the SOLO, GLOBE, PISA 1.2 and SIGN 1.2. It also fits every Trendglas kettle, the milk jug, and the OFFICE mug. If you already own a Miko, Nova or Opus teapot or one of the glass kettles, this is the lid for it. Every Trendglas lid is the same 2.75 in size, and it sits loose on the pot rather than sealing to it. That is how it is made: there is no rubber gasket to dry out, crack, or hold a smell, and the gap lets steam escape instead of building pressure. It is a resting cover, not a seal — a full pot should not be tipped or carried by the lid. A lid is the part that breaks first, and it is the only part of a glass pot that is genuinely easy to replace. Twelve dollars and change puts a good pot back in service instead of in the bin.
