The ILLOS is a glass teapot that warms itself. The base has a center opening with a glass cone rising into the body of the pot, and a tea light candle sits inside that cone. The flame heats the glass from the middle of the tea rather than from underneath, so the pot stays warm through a long sitting without a separate stand or trivet. It holds 33.8 fluid ounces, which is enough for several cups, and it comes with a domed lid and a stainless steel warmer. The whole body is glass, so you can watch the color of the brew develop and see when it is ready. ILLOS won the iF product design award in 2016. The award has run since 1953 and is judged by international expert juries, and the design here is the reason: the warming cone is part of the pot's form rather than an accessory bolted on. It is heat resistant, dishwasher safe and microwaveable. The pot measures 6.1 by 6.1 by 8.9 inches.
