The Medio is a 10.14 fl oz glass cup with its own saucer. Ten ounces is the cappuccino size, and it is also the size of a morning tea you do not have to get up and refill. The bowl is shaped to sit in the palm rather than to be held at arm's length by a tiny handle. The cup is borosilicate 3.3 glass, the same family of glass used for laboratory equipment, so it is heat resistant and takes a pour of boiling water without ceremony. The cup is microwave and dishwasher safe. One thing to know before you buy: the saucer is soda lime glass, not borosilicate. Keep the saucer out of the microwave and off the stovetop. The cup and the saucer are made in Germany by Trendglas Jena GmbH.

Materials & Care
Cup: borosilicate 3.3 glass, heat resistant, microwave and dishwasher safe. Saucer: soda lime glass, not microwave safe and not for stovetop use. Made in Germany. Borosilicate 3.3 is chemically inert, so acidic drinks like hibiscus, lemon and rosehip do not attack the glass. It will not corrode, cloud or take on flavor from what you brewed in it yesterday. Only hydrofluoric acid, concentrated phosphoric acid and strong alkali will etch this glass, and only above 212 F, which is to say nothing that belongs in a kitchen.
