The OPUS teacup holds 0.2 liters, about 6.7 fluid ounces, which is the standard cup measure rather than a mug. It comes with a glass saucer that gives the cup a stable base and catches drips. Borosilicate 3.3 glass cup with a glass saucer. Heat resistant. Made in Germany. Avoid sudden temperature changes such as moving a hot cup onto a cold stone surface. Acid is what wears out cheaper glass and metal infusers, and borosilicate 3.3 is resistant to it. Lemon, rosehip and hibiscus will not corrode or cloud the surface, and nothing you brew carries over in taste. It takes hydrofluoric acid, concentrated phosphoric acid or strong alkali above 212 F to etch this glass, which puts it well outside kitchen use.
