Beechwood Ghemme Sommelier Corkscrew

This is the classic waiter's corkscrew built properly. The handle is beechwood and steel, and the weight is the first thing you notice: heavy duty, rather than the folding tin thing that comes free with a wine club membership. The lever works in two stages, which is what matters with a long cork. A single stage lever runs out of travel partway through and you end up rocking the cork out at an angle, sometimes snapping it. Two stages lets you lift the cork straight, in two clean pulls, without leaning on the bottle. A butterfly foil cutter is built in, and the whole thing comes in an eco leather case.
