Hudson is theory11's international bestseller and this is the Black Edition: a gunmetal grey tuck case, deep black foil, gold lacing running through the foil work. The original design takes its cue from a playing card factory that stood on the bank of the Hudson River in New York from 1856. That factory turned out the cards that were standard for poker players and family games alike, until it was absorbed and disappeared in 1871 with the rise of the New York Consolidated Card Company. theory11 reimagined the deck out of that history. Everything is custom: the Ace of Spades, the Joker, the back design and the tuck case, all illustrated by Dan Gretta. The detail is fine enough that the deck rewards being looked at closely, which is what a magic or cardistry deck has to do. Made in America on FSC certified paper from sustainable forests.
