Wine Cellar Handbook

Two booklets in one little handbook. The first is an illustrated guide: how to keep a cellar, how to taste, maps of the world's wine regions, and a glossary of the words people use about wine. The glossary is the part most people actually need, because the difficulty in describing a wine is usually not the palate but the vocabulary. The second is a notebook of 60 file cards, one per bottle or per tasting. Writing them down is what turns a stack of bottles into a collection you know something about, and it is the only way to remember in March what you thought in September. At ten dollars it is a small, useful thing to keep near the rack rather than a book for the shelf.
